Welcome

This hand-formed figurative sculpture evokes the weathered majesty of an ancient artifact chiseled from stone.

Length: 6 inches

Width: 3.5 inches

Height: 17.5 inches

Weight: 4 lb. 13 oz.

The piece is a striking testament to the wabi-sabi aesthetic, blending the industrial strength of concrete with a delicate, emotive form. I hand-sculpted the figure over a sturdy steel armature, allowing the natural textures of the pigmented concrete to shine through. The sculpture's unique finish was achieved through multiple washes of black and red oxide acrylic paint, which were allowed to cascade freely down the figure, settling into the crevices to create a time-worn, organic appearance. Standing over 17 inches tall, the figure is captured in a moment of quiet grace, beginning to raise a hand in a timeless gesture of greeting.

Every detail is designed to invite contemplation, from the rugged, stone-like surface to the subtle interplay of colors that suggest a history spanning centuries. This sculpture serves as a powerful focal point in any space, offering a deep connection to the enduring beauty of the earth and the quiet strength of the human spirit.
